Go Fund a Boy Child - Joseph Nenani

Joseph Nenani, 26, is a University of Malawi (UNIMA) student from Major Village, T/A N'gabu in Chikwawa. He is currently in his third year after repeating twice—not because of academic failure, but because of severe financial hardship.

Joseph recently reached a point of deep despair and considered taking his own life because he could no longer cope with his financial situation. He needs about MWK 30,000 for monthly rent, as well as food, learning materials, a phone and a laptop. He also has an outstanding loan debt of approximately MWK 594,500. Although he receives fees and upkeep support through the loans programme, much of his upkeep allowance goes towards repaying the debt, leaving him struggling to meet his daily needs.

Joseph comes from a family of eight children. Five are married, while three are still in school, including a younger brother studying at LUANAR. With his father living in Mozambique and his mother unable to provide financial support, Joseph has been carrying much of the responsibility for his family.

His situation has also been confirmed by the UNIMA Students' Union President, who describes him as a genuinely needy student.
