Go Fund a Boy Child - Matthews Medison
Donation Target Achieved!
This initiative has reached its funding goal of MWK 210,000. Donations are now closed. Thank you to all donors!
Project Overview & Background
While his friends are in class, Mathews wakes up every morning to sell tomatoes.
He does this not only to raise money for his education, but also to support his single mother and five siblings.
In 2025, Mathews Medison was the only pupil from Misuku Primary School selected to Chayamba Boarding Secondary School in Kasungu. Through his tomato business, he raised MK250,000 for his first term.
Unfortunately, after the school was temporarily closed due to demonstrations, students were asked to pay an additional MK200,000 fine. With the total fees reaching MK450,000, Mathews could not afford to return for Term 2 and stayed home.
He continued selling tomatoes and managed to raise enough for Term 3. Now, as he moves to Form 2, he needs MK200,000 school fees and MK10,000 transport, but his tomato business has gone down. Once again, he is at home while his friends are in class.
Despite this, Mathews has not given up on his dream of finishing school and becoming a professional businessman.
After verifying his story with Mr Richard Chikagwala, Headteacher of Misuku Primary School, we have been given permission by the school and his mother to share his story and seek help.
Let’s help Mathews get back to school. A small contribution could give him another chance to continue his education. Kindly donate any amount, thank you.👏❤️
