Fundraising campaign for Thokozani Samson

Poverty forced him to drop out of school now he wants to go back but needs financial help.

Project Overview & Background

Thokozani Samson aged 18 comes from the lakeshore of Lake Chilwa, TA Mwambo, Zomba Rural. In 2022, he wrote his PSLC and was selected to St Michael’s CDSS. His grandparents sold a piece of land to prepare him for school, but the money was not enough. Thokozani dropped out in Form 1, Term 2. With no other option, he and his elder brother turned to fishing to help provide for their family. In 2025 Thoko went back to school and started standard 8 at Namisunju Primary School, failing to give up. Today, he has been selected to Mulunguzi Boarding Secondary School after scoring an impressive 4 As and 2 Bs.

After his brother got married, Thokozani became the main caregiver for his grandparents, supporting them through fishing. Since learning about his selection, he has managed to raise MK35,000 through fishing towards his school needs. But with the school opening approaching, he fears it may not be enough. Thoko's mother lives with mental illness, while his father left the family before he was even born. Thoko has grown up entirely under the care of his grandparents who have requested us to connect him to well wishers for financial support. Thoko deserves a chance, what do you think? Kindly donate.
